The 10 in
Ontario is a dangerous section of freeway. Just last month, a Fontana man died in a car crash on the 10. The twenty-year old was pronounced dead at the scene on the westbound 10. The victim was driving his Jeep Cherokee when he lost control and the vehicle flipped. Because he was not wearing a seatbelt, the driver was thrown from the
automobile.
Stories such as this have become so commonplace on
Ontario freeways that the public almost fails to take notice anymore when there is a serious
automobile accident or a fatality. Yet for those involved, such tragedies are more than statistics and so much more than just another accident.
Much has been done to try to increase safety on Southern California roadways. Drivers take defensive driving and
automobile safety classes and law enforcement patrol the freeways vigilantly. However, with rising populations and more and more drivers on the road, it seems that little can be done to stem the tide of increasing
automobile accidents.
The number of accidents on the roadways of
Ontario highlights the need for all drivers to carry at least the minimum amount of
automobile liability
insurance. Minimum liability
insurance is mandated by California state law. In addition to the legal requirement, however, carrying
automobile insurance is simply a smart idea.
Very few people could afford to foot the bill if they caused an accident and were uninsured. Depending upon injuries to self and others, not to mention damage to vehicles and personal property, the cost of an accident can easily run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Because most people do not have that kind of extra cash just sitting around,
automobile insurance provides peace of mind that drivers will not suffer financial ruin if they cause an accident (or if they are in an accident with an uninsured or under-insured driver).
Automobile insurance is now cheap and easy to get, thanks to the Internet. Long gone are the days when purchasing
automobile insurance required lengthy visits to the agents office only to have the agent try to sell 20 other kinds of
insurance, as well. Once a driver has investigated various policies and types of
insurance available and has decided which is needed, sometime all it takes is a couple of clicks of the mouse and a policy can be in hand in a matter of hours.
Nothing can erase the tragedy of an
automobile accident fatality. However, having adequate
automobile insurance in Ontario can bring the peace of mind that you are doing all that you can to protect yourself and others.
