Introduction

Taylor Walker plays for the Adelaide Crows in the Australian Football League (AFL) and wears jersey number 13. He was born on the 25th April, 1990, and he attended Willyama High school and played for Broken Hill senior premiership club in 2007 in his teenage years where he produced outstanding results in his games. He kicked about seven goals in the finals of 2007 and was thereafter invited to be part of the all Australian under-18 team. He was a beneficiary of the NSW Scholarship program of 2006 where he signed for Adelaide football club. For many fans and people who had known him for a long time, this was considered to be a dream come true for the young player who was very promising with the prospects of a successful career ahead of him.

Professional Career

Walker was able realise his dream to play in the elite league with his debut in 2009 against Collingwood. He became part of history in that very first appearance when he kicked a goal with his very first kick. He later proved this was not just a mere coincidence by kicking about 23 goals in the course of the very first 13 games of the season. He achieved another great record by the tenth round when he earned a NAB Rising Star nomination for kicking five goals during the first half in a game against Hawthorn. He helped his club Adelaide Crows to win that particular game with an amazing 27 point win. After the 12th round, he was dropped and was later fielded again in the 19th round. He however, could not play for the finals that year. Nevertheless, Taylor was able to achieve amazing records that season especially considering the fact that he was a new player in the league. He played a total of 14 games with 88 kicks and 57 marks.

The club had a challenging season in 2010, and Taylor Walker was also not left out at all. He had a series of erratic and unsteady form. This made him to be dropped from the squad on several occasions during the year. There were also serious speculations and rumours among the clubs fans and even the general public that there was a serious misunderstanding between Taylor and the head coach of the team. There were also allegations from several quarters that the head coach was using the player as a reason or scape goat for his lack of results or poor performances. Walker had displayed some behaviours amounting to indiscipline when he was seen openly drinking a beer at an SANFL game. This happened after he was dropped from the team for two weeks after a very poor showing. He eventually made his way back into the team but ended up with a knee injury in his very first game after his return. The injury kept him away from play for up to two weeks. He has been speculated to be in serious talks with Greater Western Sydney who are supposed to enter the AFL competition in 2012. His contract with Adelaide crows is supposed to last till the end of 2011.

Private Life

Walker is certainly a fun loving youngman; he enjoys his private times away from his games. He was quoted to have said that the autograph he was able to get as a kid was that of Anthony Modra. When asked the things he would like to do after his football career, he mentioned that he would love to own a Pub and also travel around Australia and the entire world. His favourite Australian Personality is OL Country Boy, and the Inbetweeners is his favourite television show.
