Tattoos As A Fashion Accessory

By:

There are two kinds of tattoos, (1) tattoos anyone can see and (2) tattoos that are hidden beneath your clothes.

The indigenous people, called the "Maori" of New Zealand, show extensive tattoos on their bodies and even on their faces as the way of tribal self-identification of which they are very proud. This is done by both Maori women and men. The Maori tattoos are applied in a traditional ceremony that has rigorous acceptance requirements, in that the expert tattoo person will not apply the tattoos until the Maori person undergoes a lengthy period of self examination and achieves the practice of self control.

This is because the Maori consider tattoos to be a spiritual sign of adherence to God, family, and tribe. So the Maori tattoos are not something to be taken on lightly. It is easy to understand this because the Maori tattoos are full body and also cover the face. In order to have tattoos of this full body nature, it requires extreme patience and dedication to the process that takes many months. Maori tattoos are one type of tattoo that anyone can see. These type of tattoos show dedication by their nature.

The second type of tattoos are the kind of tattoos that are more personal and can be a bit of a secret. These are hidden beneath the clothes. They are smaller and can be placed almost anywhere including, of course, your most private areas. They are both a quiet rebellion and a secret naughtiness that is only revealed when you take off your clothes. Of course there are many tattoos of this nature. Some are done in a drunken stupor, that seemed like a good idea at the time.

But putting "I Love Maria" is only good if you are referring to Mother Mary of the Catholic church and not your ex-wife that is now sleeping with some Jose' that is giving her better play that you did. The last think you want from a tattoo is to be reminded of a failed marriage.
So be careful what you choose for a tattoo. They say that tattoos are permanent, which for the most part they are; however if you have the wad of cash necessary to pay for the treatments, almost any tattoos can be removed by laser surgery techniques.

The laser is a very hot, very targeted point, that literally burns the tattoo areas in such a way that the new skin replaces the burned out tattoos. This laser procedure is expensive and also uncomfortable.
It is better to pick a tattoo that has a strong and unchanging meaning for yourself.

For example, if you have always liked Mickey Mouse since you were a kid and your feelings about it will probably be passed to your kids and to your grand kids - then by all means get a Mickey Mouse tattoo. We are not joking! Nor do we mean to trivialize the love for Mickey Mouse. We use that only as an example of deep-rooted feelings that a person may have and we suggest that such feelings are the best choices for expression in tattoos.

Just like the Maori, who are challenged to think many years before they are allowed to be tattooed, we suggest you give your tattoos the same amount of attention and pre-thought. If you do that you will have tattoos that have so much meaning for you, that you will be always happy for them to be seen if they are highly visible or to show them to your significant others if they are located in more private areas.
