Targeted Leads

By:

Targeted Leads are a follow through of some ' prelude ', homework, if you will, after you have sought out the ' right person', known as Profiling and Prospecting. You must convert that Profile or Prospect into a ' Lead '. You will then telephone this person about your business or product. However, there are several types of Leads and different Leads can have a different affect.

In a former article, I explained how Demographics play a part in choosing a Prospect. Information such as a person's zip code, age, sex, job, income and status are taken into consideration. Well, a 'Demographic Lead ', is a rather inexpensive lead which is available in rather high quantities. You can purchase these from a Lead Broker at roughly ten cents per lead. This will get you a name and a telephone number.

Another type of Lead is ' The Cold Targeted Lead ', allegedly, the best lead, to start with. These targeted people have purchased products which are similar to what is being offered and you may use these leads to test out your campaign as well. This Lead List is quite large and can be purchased at approximately ten to twenty-five cents per lead. Here, you will also receive a name and a telephone number.

There's also a ' Survey Lead ', where people have actually responded to a particular survey. This type of lead should not necessarily be purchased in bulk or for much money as the participation in contest or winning an item is generally linked to this type of lead. That information may or may not be of any use in your campaign.

There is also what is known as a ' Response Lead ', or ' The Positioned Lead ', however, this lead is not really classified as a ' Targeted Lead '. But, a Lead, none the less. This is where a person has already responded to your campaign efforts. This rates higher on the scale of leads and for the quantity and time involved, the price can be right.

Lastly, there is ' The Buyers Lead ', rumor has it that this is the best Lead one can purchase. Why? Because the Prospect has purchased a similar product in the past.

The advantages with Targeted Leads are, you've already done the groundwork in accessing your situation meaning, the type of people looking for a particular type of business or product has already been scaled down and becomes a more selective audience.

The disadvantages would occur when one has not done their homework and just randomly calls a person out of the blue. People don't seem to appreciate that strategy very much.
