Tanzania Safari - Enjoying The Ultimate African Safari Experience

By:

Tanzania safaris offer you the chance to enjoy memorable wildlife viewing and spectacular sceneries. Situated in the vast East African region, Tanzania hosts some of the world's greatest wildlife reserves such as the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and the Selous. Tours to Tanzania safari parks and reserves bring about enticing mix of picturesque neighbourhoods and numerous wild animals.

The Serengeti National Park, one the world's most spectacular game reserves, not only hosts a wide array of wildlife but it is also the starting point of the Great Wildebeest Migration. Acknowledged to be the biggest animal exhibition, the migration witnesses about 1 million wildebeests and zebras crossing over from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara in search of foliage. This usually occurs annually between July and September; with the reverse taking place from early November.

Recognized as the world's largest unbroken caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area is a scenic destination. The crater offers panoramic views from the rim of the crater over the landscape and floor around it. The area features an incredibly huge array of wildlife, which are protected from danger by its 2,000ft walls. The animals present here include the 'Big Five' (elephant, buffalo, leopard, lion and rhino), zebra, jackal, cheetah and wildebeest among many others.

Situated in south-east Tanzania in a remote area of the country, Selous Game Reserve is the largest protected wildlife reserve in Africa. In deed, the reserve is the largest of its kind throughout the world, measuring about 50,000 square kilometres. Selous features numerous wildlife including lion, elephant, impala, hippo, zebra, giraffe, sable and the rare African wild dog.

The best time to take a safari to Tanzania depends on your preferences. For instance, the rainy season is the perfect time to catch up with the wildebeest migration, at the vast plains of the Serengeti, although the patterns vary and are not easily predictable. The dry season is, on the other hand, ideal for viewing predators.
