Daytona Beach is one of the top destinations for Spring Breakers. People just flock to this glorious city for the magnificent beaches and parties. But beaches are not all that there is in Daytona. Motorsports is deeply embedded in this city's culture. In fact, Daytona shores are among the few beaches in the world where people are allowed to drive on the sand! Go-kart racing and driving tours are common activities in this city. But what primarily drives speed lovers to visit this city is the Daytona International Speedway.

The Speedway hosts most of the big international competitions with its 2.5-mile (4 km) tri-oval race track. With 168,000 seating capacity, this Speedway is sure to hold a great exciting race for both the competitors and spectators. This vast Speedway also includes 1.56 miles road course and 29 acres of lake. Lake Lloyd is used for powerboat racing. Daytona International Speedway does not limit itself to races on land, but challenges speed on water as well!

Lovers of speed cannot miss the Great American Race - Daytona 500, which is of course held in the enormous tracks of Daytona International Speedway.

If you come during spring, you might want to leave the Spring Break parties for a while and head to the Speedway for the Annual Spring Car Show and Swap Meet. Check schedules for the Coke Zero 400 and Rolex 24 which are big events held in the Speedway. Also, you can watch out for the annual Daytona Bike Week. This event is celebrated in the whole city but the Speedway naturally hosts most of the activities.

Even when you are not anticipating any event or race, you still cannot miss a tour of Daytona International Speedway. The vastness of this speedway will simply astound you. Even if you're not a fan of speed, you are bound to enjoy the Daytona 500 Experience. This is not only entertaining, but also educational.
