Located in the Xinyi District is the Taipei Financial Centre which is a landmark skyscraper. It was known as the worlds tallest skyscraper from 2004 to 2010. It has been a symbol of modern Taiwan. Taipei 101 has received many awards such as the 2004 Emporis Skyscraper Award and it is also noted as one of the Seven Wonders of the World by Newsweek magazine and the Seven Wonders of Engineering by Discovery Channel.
