TOOLS FOR THE DYSLEXIC:LEARNING TO NAVIGATE THROUGH A NON-DYSLEXIC WORLD WHEN YOU VIEW THE WORLD COMPLETELY DIFFERENTLY
---------------------------------------------------
Yes, dyslexia has its share of problems, but it can also have an interesting way of giving an individual a different perspective on how to look at a given problem. This article will focus on tools a dyslexic can use when writing e-mails, papers or speaking with your boss, and taking multiple choice exams for job placement, certifications, or any other standardized test and following instructions in order to flip the negative aspects around into a positive way. Instead, like so many school aged children suffering from dyslexia, I was pinpointed as a "trouble maker" despite the fact that I was never sent to the Principal's office, or caused classroom disruptions. This was a complete achievement for a person who always struggled with school. I am hoping you will find my story to be helpful for you. Dyslexia can be one of the most frustrating things to deal with in adulthood. While it is still a problem for me to manage, I want you to understand this is something you can manage too with a little time, and thorough understanding of yourself. There are also many positive aspects of dyslexia and we will explore these aspects in this article.

PUBLIC SPEAKING
---------------------------------------------------
This could be the difference between a promotion, or your continued work at a dead end job. This is the perfect blend for me to make a pronoun flip flopping mistake. Perhaps you want to speak quickly because it seems impressive when others do it? Many individuals believe if they speak something quickly, he or she will impress their boss or other individuals he or she is speaking with. When you are speaking with another person, do you tend to jumble pronouns when writing letters, papers, e-mails or when you're speaking with someone? For example, instead of you saying, "John went to the store to buy Jane a dog," you say, "Jane when to the store to buy John a dog.

VERB AGREEMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
This can be quite embarrassing in front of an employer or someone you are trying to impress with your knowledge or excellent vocabulary skills. Verb usage may prove to be quite difficult for you as a dyslexic. For example, if you just stated, "Your good work is a testament to the dedication you had for your company," correct yourself quickly by stating, "Excuse me, what I meant was your good work is a testament for the dedication you have for your company.

WRITING
---------------------------------------------------
You may find that writing is easier for you to do as a dyslexic. Make sure you check everything you write carefully.

TAKING STANDARDIZED TESTS
---------------------------------------------------
For example:

The feral cat population is heavy in certain parts of the country. The feral cat population is heavy in certain parts of the country. Standardized tests can be very difficult for dyslexics to take. Then continue on to the next question. The first question you must ask yourself when getting ready to take a multiple choice exam is simple. This can be attributed to (find the answer that BEST answers this question)
A. It will help you develop the mindset for taking the given exam and will help you understand exactly how your instructor wants you to take the exam. It wasn't because I didn't understand the material I was being tested on. Dyslexics do this on a regular basis without knowing they did this, and are furious with his or her self when they inadvertently got the wrong answer. By analyzing you test in these two ways, you will understand what needs to happen in the future when taking this type of exam.

INSTRUCTIONS
---------------------------------------------------
They will have tools you can use to help you in any area you are especially having trouble with. If you are a visual person, you should look at a map on Google Earth to get an idea of where you are going before you start driving. When handling standardized tests, you must remember to analyze where you go wrong while taking standardized tests. Following driving instructions can be so frustrating yet so embarrassing when I make any mistake in front of another person. As technologies and times change, so will your views of the world and how you interact with the world around you. Come up with a game plan when dealing with standardized testing and always reread the instructions so you know what is being asked for you. My frustrations would be completely consuming because I didn't have the appropriate tools in place to be able to combat the given situations.
