By:

Being successful in todays medical world takes a lot of dedication, as the medical field is laden with competition. To make things harder, new discoveries are made every day, which requires professionals to be constantly educating themselves about the latest breakthroughs and most advanced therapies currently available. Some professionals are capable of committing their lives to this field, and those are the doctors like Sy Schlager, who have embraced the ups and downs of the medical community and have worked to improve the overall effectiveness of the work that it produces.

Sy Schlager began his career at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago, where he earned his PhD in microbiology-immunology. He then went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, which took him from Chicago to Bethesda, Maryland. Five years later, Sy Schlager was deemed a Cancer Expert and has since worked in a variety of fields within the medical community.

His fellowship at the National Cancer Institute piqued Sy Schlagers interest in becoming a medical doctor, so he attended the University of Miami in the Sunshine State, where he earned an MD. He followed this educational feat with an internship and residency at the University of Chicago, where he pursued an interest in internal medicine, an interest that held through his establishment of a presence in the private practice community. After several years, though, Sy Schlager decided to follow another interest and made the jump to the pharmaceutical industry, where he became the leader of a program sponsored by Abbott Laboratories. This program focused on AIDS and antiviral treatment, and sparked his desire to found his own pharmaceutical company. Academic Pharmaceuticals, Sy Schlagers next endeavor, researched the clinical development of orphan drugs, which had become an interest of Dr. Schlagers when he worked at Abbott Laboratories.

Again moved by a new interest, Schlager graduated from the Witkin School of Law in 1997. The recipient of a Juris Doctor, Schlager graduated cum laude. He has also published several books and many articles, which have made his research and discoveries available to anyone interested in the various fields in which he has worked.

Now the President and Chief Medical Officer of the educational company Therapeutic Window, Schlager has channeled his many talents into the composition of educational resources for medical professionals seeking to continue their education and maintain current licensure and certification.

Through his many contributions to the medical community, and his work in many different fields that this industry presents, Schlager has brought a great deal of valuable information to doctors and other medical professionals around the world!
