Those who are passionate about snowboarding will love Switzerland for its stunning scenery and varied ski routes. Additionally, all the main ski resorts are easily reachable due to their fantastic rail routes.

But of course all this can be pricey. The Swiss are not nearly as fanatical as their Austrian neighbours over the art of snowboarding, however, the resorts still manage to attract plenty of local interest.

Apres-ski in Arosa is fairly relaxed compared to many other resorts, but it makes up for this by housing seventy kilometres of pistes, as well as snowboarding runs which span from 1,800 through to 2,650. It is more suitable for a novice snowboarder compared to someone who is more experienced. Snowboarders of all abilities are catered for with 350 kilometres if piste, offering a variety of options. There are 55 lifts in total, and the boarding range is from 1,856 to 3,303 metres.

The apres-ski scene is unlike another other in the world, crammed with bars, clubs and restaurants, as well as various other attractions to keep you busy. St. Moritz is definitely one for the high rollers.

Zermatt enjoys a dramatic setting in the shadow of the famous Matterhorn, offering links with the Italian resort of Cervinia. The option of taking on some breath taking heli- snowboarding exists in this amazing resort that is best suited to intermediate and advanced boarders. Set at an altitude of 1,620 metres, the resort area guarantees almost reliable snow.

The complex is simple to get around, with seventy lifts spanning a range of between 1,620 and 3,820 metres, set in 150 kilometres of piste. The aprs-ski scene is very advanced here with numerous restaurants, bars and late night clubs.
