Suit Up With Men's Suits

By:

The name is Bond. James Bond. These are confident words from a man in nicely-tailored black tuxedo who knows who he is and what he wants in life. This is spoken ever politely with just a hint of danger to it. You become fully aware what a puny weakling you are and that at any moment this guy could kick your ass, and yes, he certainly can.

Who does not know James Bond? The spy flick franchise about a British secret agent was always a big hit in the silver screen. No wonder the movie would see various incarnations from The Sean Connery to the surprise choice but critically loved Daniel Craig. Boys and even men would secretly dream of becoming James Bond. Who doesnt want to be in his shoes? The guy drives the fanciest cars (How I wish he doesnt ruin those Aston Martins. If he is so keen to destroy them, he might as well give me the keys) uses the newest gadgets, dresses well and women seem to fall all over him like moths to a fire in a candle (Denise Richards, anyone?).

We cannot help but wonder what seems to be the appeal of this fictional character, but since we could never become him we could at least try to look like him. Maybe that is the appeal of James Bond: his ability to carry himself confidently in whatever mens suits he is wearing.

It has always been an over used clich that women just love a man in uniform. We cant always be in uniform so the least we can do is don nicely tailored mens suits. Mens suits exude an aura of authority, formality and confidence that simple t-shirts and jeans cant achieved (and never will). Let us face it, boys. As much as we love those laid back attire, we could never draw a second glance from anyone especially is we are standing beside someone in a spiffy tailored suit. Besides, there are some occasions that require mens suits rather than the usual attire that we usually wear. Formal wear is required in formal occasions. The corporate world also requires certain attire. (I doubt if billion dollar deals in corporate rooms are sealed with men wearing shorts or jeans.) T-shirts and jeans belong in the malls or weekend barbecue sessions in your best buddys backyard.

I know most men have an aversion with mens suits and would rather be caught dead than be found wearing one. But come on, we cannot always be teenagers sporting baggy pants and shirts proclaiming their political beliefs or the name of the latest rock band. We do want to attract the opposite sex right? Let us take a leaf from our idol James Bonds books and start dressing up rather than dressing down. However if you look like Brad Pitt or Leonardo Di Caprio or that women magnet Johnny Depp, you can always disregard my advice and rely on your plain good looks alone. If not, suit up!
