Sueno: Healthy Sleep With An Organic Mattress

How a Sueno Organic Mattress Promotes Healthy Sleep

Many of us make a conscious effort in our daily lives to make sound ecological choices. But what about the choices we make for our nightlife? Mattresses made from natural and organic materials offer comfort while supporting sustainability.

Sueno Organic Mattress: More Than A Good Nights Healthy Sleep

When choosing our product lines, EcoInhabit is committed to searching out healthy and environmentally responsible materials. The mattresses and linens we carry were chosen with this in mind. Our Sueno line of organic mattress, mattress toppers, pillows and linens are made with organic cotton, natural rubber and pure wool, all sustainable materials which can promote healthy sleep.

Cotton: Organic vs. non-organic

According to the Environmental Justice Foundation, US$2 billions worth of chemicals are sprayed on the worlds cotton crops every year, with nearly half toxic enough to be classified as hazardous by the World Health Organization.

In contrast, organic cotton is grown without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, reducing the environmental impact.

Rubber: Natural vs. synthetic

Synthetic rubber is man-made, with crude oil being the principal raw material, a concern given the issue of Peak Oil. Natural rubber is harvested from the Hevea brasiliensis tree found mostly in Southeast Asia. Latex is collected from a diagonal incision in mature tree trunks, a process that doesnt affect the health of the tree.

Pure Wool:

One hundred per cent pure wool is a sustainable material that is moisture resistant and acts as a natural flame retardant, as well as being naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic.

EcoInhabit and Sueno: Products that reflect our values

At EcoInhabit we believe our homes can and should be affordable, earth friendly places where we can flourish. Our line of Sueno mattresses are made with high quality natural rubber that has a pure wool lining to wick moisture, and are covered with a layer of 100 percent organic cotton. They are resilient to mold and dust mites, are available in firm or medium and have a 10-year warranty.

Sueno organic mattress foundations contain no metal and are made with wooden slats and frames hand-constructed from untreated, seasoned, kiln-dried spruce from Quebec, harvested by the Sustainable Harvesting Method. No synthetic glues, dyes or finishing sprays are used at any stage of production.

Accessory pillows are made with natural rubber covered in organic cotton and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Mattress toppers come in either wool or rubber and can be put on top of existing mattresses.

For dressing beds, we carry Sueno comforters made of pure wool covered with organic cotton, available in summer and winter weights.

EcoInhabit also carries some Dream Designs organic cotton and hemp sheets as well as some Loop organic cotton sheets. We are also exploring other lines of bed linens and do carry some hand-woven locally made alpaca throws.

Ecology and Comfort: Choosing sustainable materials doesnt mean sacrificing a good nights sleep

Sueno mattresses and accessories are incredibly comfortable and attractive and customers who have tried our lines of linens have told us they just love them. These products made with natural and organic materials contribute to a healthy, restorative environment in your bedroom.

Mattresses and linens made with natural sustainable materials that not only help you with healthy sleep but more comfort while they let you rest easily, having made a sound ecological choice.
