Style Tips: Choosing The Right Jeans

By:

When it comes to wearing jeans, too often women choose any pair of jeans they like. Maybe it's because of the wash, the price, or the brand, but they don't take the time to actually see how it fits for them. They need to take into consideration their body type over just fashion because otherwise they'll look frumpy and ill fitting.

When it comes to an hour glass shape you can wear most styles but there are particular ones that work best. Small waist jeans are going to enhance your curves better. A flared or boot cut style will balance out your wider hips so that you have a more even look from top to bottom. A tailored jean will look especially good. Just be sure to get styles that look more your age and not something a teenager would wear. It's very easy to make this mistake so be sure you get something with a darker wash and not too much detail with embroidery and studs.

The pear shape is the most common shape for a woman's body, with a more wide bottom and a slimmer top half. Large pockets on the back of jeans will make your bottom half look just a bit smaller, while a darker wash will slim your hips considerably. They also tend to look new for a longer period of time, so this is great for the woman on a budget who doesn't want to be buying new jeans every few months. For warmer weather, bermuda shorts are a great pick.

The triangle shape means your top half is wider than your bottom, so your shoulders my span a larger width than your hips. You can make yourself look more even by wearing wider legged jeans like boyfriend jeans.

When shopping for new jeans to keep up with fashion trends, don't just go with styles because they are popular. Skinny jeans are still a huge hit, but not all body types can pull it off. Flares are coming back, but if you are petite they can look like they are swallowing you whole.

Make sure to part with your old jeans, even if it's hard, before shopping for new ones. This will force you to be out with the old and in with the new. Embracing a new style that works for your body type is what fashion is all about, looking good and feeling good in what you wear!
