Challenge:
The designers had to fit the 56 kW array of Sharp 224Wp, PV modules within the available area.
Local conditions required 20 PSF ground snow load and 90 MPH wind load.

Solutions:
RBI solar, Inc. designed the tilt-angle of the structural framing system for the array at 30 degrees south. There is a minimum mean clearance of 24 between the solar modules and rough grade at the lower end of the structure. The RBI Solar team designed the mounting structure to keep the elevation at the top of the modules approximately 7-6 feet from rough grade, accounting for terrain undulations. The distance between two adjacent rows of structure rows of structure is approximately 16

Project Overview:
RBI Solar used ground mount structures designed with frames consisting of posts and rafters. The frames supported two rows of modules installed in portrait orientation. Within a structural frame, each row of modules contained 2x7 solar modules in portrait.

RBI Solar Inc. provided the design, engineering, manufacturing, and shipping, of all the racking materials. Racking for this project was manufactured in RBI Solars Ohio manufacturing facility. On site, installation crews installed the foundations, structural frames, and the mounting system.

RBI Solar crew installed the racking system for this project as well. Considering the topography of this site, RBI engineering team chose the concrete foundation for Wilmington.
