When youre on a weight loss program you should not feel hungry!

If youre feeling hungry or deprived in any way you may need to eat or drink more. Losing weight is not about feeling hungry or deprived; its not about counting calories either. Its all about making the correct choices in healthy foods that are essential for nutrition and moving away from the types of foods that have made you overweight in the first place.
You many not actually reduce the quantity of what youre eating by much, but what you will do is adjust the types of foods you eat. Your eyes may want something different for a while, but once you start to see the fat melt away from your belly you will see how its all been mind over matter. Its simply swapping the foods that are bad for you for the foods that are good for you. Youre not starving, youre more than likely having to get used to not gorging on massive quantities of food that your body just does not need. You may even have withdrawal symptoms, less chocolate or coffee means less caffeine. Do not worry, here are tips to help you with these phantom hunger pangs before you have a full blown binge.

Water
Water is our best friend, we do not give it as much consideration as it should get. As our bodies are made up mainly of water we can very easily get dehydrated if we do not drink enough. Your body needs water each and every day and more so if you exercise a lot. You need to aim to drink at the very least half of your body weight in ounces; so if you weigh lets say 140lb then you need to drink 70 fluid ounces of water every day.
Water does loads for your health, including help rid your body of toxins and help keep your bowel movements regular. Too often we think we are hungry when in actual fact our body needs a drink. The next time you think youre hungry and you know youve not long eaten then have another drink of water, you may just be thirsty. Its too easy to feel hunger instead of thirst. You will start to learn the difference as time goes on.

Fiber
Fiber or roughage is required in high amounts in any healthy eating plan, especially whilst trying to lose weight. Fiber helps our digestive system, it help to stop us from being constipated due to the dietary change were making even whilst its for the better. Fiber also makes you feel fuller for longer and staves of any hunger pangs between meals. As much as you can, have Fiber with every meal and snack. Fiber rich foods include such things like salads, celery and green vegetables.

Healthy Fats
Sorry but this does not mean bags of chips or crispy fried chicken. What it does mean is that there are plenty of healthy fats out there
You need to eat the healthy fats, which are MUFAs (Monounsaturated fatty acids) Or PUFAs (Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids).

They include: Nuts like almonds, walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts/filberts, Brazil nuts, pistachios, Macadamia nuts, Peanuts, Peanut Butter, Almond Butter, Soy Nut Butter, Soy Nuts/Soy Beans, Avocados, Olives, Olive Oil, Sunflower Seeds, Sunflower Oil, Canola Oil, Sesame Seeds, Sesame Seed Oil, Tea Seed Oil/Tea Oil. Or PUFAs (Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids).

Exercise
Yes I know this may sound like a dirty word to some, but we all know how important it is. Exercise can be moving your body in any way you enjoy, from walking 30 minutes every day to training for a marathon.
Lets face it its a personal choice but a choice that must be made to stay healthy. If you hate the thought of exercising then you have to change this thought process or your life will be shortened significantly. Engaging in any type of activity will increase your chances of weight loss. Your metabolism will be more efficient and you will still be burning off those unwanted calories long after you have stopped the activity. Exercise helps reduce stress, helps you sleep and if you exercise regularly its one of the most effective stress management techniques.
