Twitter is a good site to interact with people with similar interests. Because of it's potential to reach the masses, it is a target for many biz opportunity seekers and promoters to spam and make it an undesirable place to be.

So here is a quick guide on why you should stop spamming your twitter followers and create value for them instead.

What makes many industries such a controversy is the unwelcome sales pitches where clearly the sales person and company are looking after their own financial benefit. The best business transactions are win-win.

Take Google for example. Their business model relies on giving the searcher exactly what they want and providing the advertiser with a highly targeted group of people by its relevant searches. By doing so, the advertiser wins because they reach their exact target audience, while the searcher gets exactly what they want. This is actually win-win-win.

The problem with most spam on twitter is that people set auto responders and the messages they set in there are just useless. I remember getting one that said "learn how to make $24,854 on twitter". Then you go there and they tell you to buy software that sends messages to other twitter users and tell them "learn how to make $24,854 on twitter".

This is one of those programs where the owner of the program is making a killing while the rest are just losing friendships and wondering why they are not making $2.48 when they are telling everyone else they can make ten thousand times that!

Instead, you should focus on providing value to your followers and give them good solid information they can actually use.

Example could be a list of the most common objections network marketers face and how to handle them so they don't come up in the first place. By doing so you'll be positioning yourself as an expert and will gain popularity. Twitter should only be a vehicle to drive traffic to your main hub where you do all the selling.

Twitter is about relationships and not about selling. When you provide good information people naturally want to get to know you and reciprocate the favor of giving.
