Lobster is one of the most popular seafood loved by many people. There are many delectable lobster recipes that require the shell to be removed. If you are planning to create one, you need to learn these steps in removing lobster from its shell with ease.

Take note that when preparing a lobster which is alive, you have to grab it by the back tightly then quickly plunge it to a pot of boiling water and then immerse its entire body. Make sure that the water is adequate enough to cover the lobster entirely. For 5 minutes boil it rapidly then lower the temperature to cook gradually for half an hour. When youre done, take the lobster out of the water and let it cool.

After cooking the lobster, you can serve it to your guests after it has been cooled or use it to cook other scrumptious dishes. Usually it is serve with its shell split open when no extra preparation is made. Lobster is best dipped in mayonnaise and other strong-flavored sauces. A small fork is used to remove the flesh from the shell.

Removing the Lobster from the Shell

Initially remove two big claws, followed by four pairs of little claws by pulling them off and then split the tail from the body. Trim a slit at the whole shell covering by inserting scissors just under the tail portion and take out the flesh without breaking them to pieces. You can see the intestinal tract set inside the piece, tracing the whole length. You need to make a slit on the flesh and get rid of it. Next, separate the flesh of the body from the shell and retain the fibrous flesh of the tail. Dont take out the stomach, leave it in the shell. Make sure that you carefully remove all flesh that envelops the lobsters bony part. The lobsters roe should be removed because you can use it for garnishing.

Use a hammer or nut cracker to break the big claws open and take out the flesh carefully. Small claws also contain a bit of flesh so they are also suitable for garnishing.
