The Snorkeler 12x12 layout by Amy Heller, Little Black Dress Design Team Member, can be described as both fabulous and fun. But some may not believe the fact that it's possible. It's possible for you to make something just as fun and just as fabulous. And it's possible because Amy was willing to share here secrets.

12x12 Layout by Amy Heller, The Snorkeler
Step by step instructions starting now:
Items needed to complete this 12x12 layout: July's Not Just Navy monthly scrapbooking kit from Little Black Dress Kit Club, Jumbo Flower punch (Amy's was made by EK Success), Large Flower Punch (also made by EK Success), Small Flower Punch (Amy got her's from the Martha Stewart section) and 1/2" corner rounder (made by Fiskars) and twine. You are, of course, welcome to substitute items made by other manufacturers, etc.
1) The base paper is the green patterned page.
2) Trim out the blue polka dot sheet and the numbers patterned paper as a background for your photo. Adhere.
3) Use the sassy border at the bottom of your Sassafras lass paper (cut it off) along the bottom edge of your page. Glue your orange striped ribbon on with the border.
4) Use a zig zag stitch on your sewing machine (the real deal or hand held) and stitch along the top of the blue polka paper and the bottom of the numbers paper.
5) Use the Sassafras lass cardstock stickers on the left side of your page. You'll need to trim them.
6) Use your punches to gather several sizes of coordinating colored flowers and layer them on the page. Add a large red sequin under one of your smaller flowers to make it pop off the page and add a bit of subtle glimmer. Finish off your flowers with vintage pieces from the kit (threaded buttons, etc.)
Tiny Tip: You can use the negative space created by your punches. Check out the top of the photo on Amy's Snorkeler 12x12 layout. She added a bit there and it kept in the overall theme of the page while making the layout a bit lighter.
7) Take a journaling tag from the SL cardstock stickers and using your MLS orange stickers write up your journaling bullet points. Adorn with threaded buttons. Adhere to layout. Adhere your flowers made in #6 to the layout in a variety of places in the layout, clustering around the journaling tag.
8) Using your Thickers, create a unique title for your layout by following the lines of the patterned paper. Remember to look and use all the negative space around each letter to create a more cohesive title.
9) Use scraps to adorn the top left corner. Use your MLS stickers to apply the date of your photo to the layout. Finish off the layout with any final threaded buttons as needed.
And that's that! You've got your very own version of Amy's Snorkeler 12x12 Layout. It's a fun one! Didn't I tell you? Keep your eye out for more step by step instructions from the LBD design team members...they'll be coming!
