We all know that stem cells are the human connecting blocks of the blood. Their central job is to generate blood cells in the human body. These cells are very unique because they have the adaptability to prosper into many types of cells in the human body. These types of cells are in the very early phases of growth and so can it turn into specialized cells such as in the organs and nerves of humans. These types of research help scientists to recreate damaged human organs and also it helps to find out various new ways to utilize them.

There are many pros and cons. Stem cells that have been obtained from embryos are the very early type of cells and hence have the efficiency to develop into other many types of cells. Embryonic stem cells are very easy to keep in the laboratory. Theoretically they can be kept to alive forever. Also one of the main feature of this embroyic cells is that they can be found easily because they divide very fast and they have the ability to be cloned successfully.

The future of medical betterment beyond our dreams is one of the main arguments in favor of this research. Scientists and researchers all over the world are optimistic about the depth of improvement that stem cell research can bring to the medical community. We have seen already that much research has been done successfully to show that this can be used to help treat severe diseases such as Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's Disease, Heart Diseases, Stroke and Diabetes (Type 1), Birth Defects, Spinal Cord Injuries, Replace or Repair Damaged Organs, Reduced Risk of Transplantation , Stem cells may play a major role in cancer.

We have not stop here yet. In fact, every major disease shows effective of treatment or we can say that prevention through the use of this stem cell therapy. So, it can be used in strokes, heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease, arthritis and pancreas disease. This research may also be milestone in finding a cure or treatment for cancer or cancer related diseases.

Those against embryonic stem cell research usually feel that way for ethical reasons. In fact, these embryonic stem cells are very tiny embryos. Many have many arguments and views on this. Some talk about that life of human doesn't start until birth, others believe in other way. And so they think that it is destroying life while using these cells in research work. These could actually be implanted into a donor and carried full term resulting in a baby.

This research also uses cloning to increase the amount of stem cells available. This is often considered unethical and it is illegal in some countries to clone human cells. Scientists argue and suggested that they would use the cloned cells strictly for research purposes but the issue still remains open.

Whether you agree or not with the pros and cons of stem cell research, one thing is clear. We are on the verge of great medical advancements in the years to come. So these pros and cons had to be valued with carefully, for many reasons. Whenever someone planning a research project, ethics must always be considered. If you cannot defend it ethically, you should not and will not be able to conduct it. You cannot defend a study ethically unless the preplanned cost is lower than expected benefits. So, all the analysis needs to include and monitored human/animal discomfort/risks, environmental and nature issues, material costs/benefits, economy condition etc.This debate is an example of how people value many aspects differently. It is also an extremely good example of how critics and debate can result in significant improvements for both sides.
