Cut Your Calories

If you are worried and dont know what to do for cutting calories, you're not alone because there are a lot of people out there thinking there doing everything right. First step is to look at how you eat. When you make that pan fried dish, what type of oil are you using? If you said vegetable oil, then you're not eating healthy. Instead, you should use olive oil. Olive oil is healthier for you given that it has fewer calories in it then regular oil. When it comes to your diet, there are actually a lot of subtle ways that you can cut calories to help you lower your cholesterol and lose some weight.

One thing you can do is cut down on your portions. Instead of eating like two big scoops of potatoes, you could eat just one and replace that other scoop with more vegetables.

Another thing that you can do is watch the condiments and food add-ons that you use. For example, if you use real butter in all of your cooking, you could substitute that butter with Fat Free I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. You'll still get that creamy, buttery taste, but, minus all the calories. Another example is when you make a salad. In place of using fatty dressing, go with something that is lighter like citrus vinaigrette or something.

A third subtle way to cut calories from your diet is to keep an eye on all the beverages that you're drinking. For example, are you drinking two percent milk or fat free milk? If you're drinking two percent milk, you're consuming a ton of calories that you wouldn't consume if you were drinking fat free milk. Also, cut back on your soft drink intake as well. Most soft drinks are 120 to 200 calories a piece. Just by drinking a glass of water instead of soft drinks will help you cut back in no time at all. This idea also applies to entire foods that you're eating too. For one, if you want ice cream, eat fat free yogurt instead of something made with heavy cream and chocolate.

Exercise And Physical Fitness

Regular exercise is a critical part of staying healthy. People who are active live longer and feel better. Exercise can help you maintain a healthy weight. It can delay or prevent diabetes, some cancers and heart problems.

Regular exercise tones your body muscles, reduce body fat, fight disease and relieve depression, tension and stress. Eat well and exercise regularly and within a few months and you will be able to see some results. Your muscles will be stronger, your joints and mobility improve, and your heart will be stronger, pumping more blood with less strain on your body.

Most adults need at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity at least five days per week. Examples include walking briskly, mowing the lawn, dancing, swimming for recreation or bicycling.

Treat Others Like Good Friends

Under the marriage canopy one of the seven blessings given to the bride and groom is that they should become beloved friends. The hallmark of friendship is that each person validates and respects the other persons feelings and needs. The feeling of camaraderie and companionship plays a very vital role in feeling healthy and staying young.

Breathe

Exhaling relieves stress, clears the lungs, increases mental focus and contracts the abdomen. You can actually tone the belly by learning to breathe properly. Use yoga techniques such as Pranayam and Kapal Bharti to have better control on your breathing.

Get More Sleep

Getting enough sleep is a problem for our society in general. Some of us cannot go to sleep. Some of us can stay asleep. Some of us do not have time to sleep. Getting more sleep for health and fitness is probably a matter of scheduling and tweaking your priorities to fit in atleast 7-8 hours of good sleep. It rejuvenates the body and energises the body to perform well. The ill-effects of sleep deprivation includes weight gain, lower immunity, irritation and negative outlook towards life.

Meditate

More and more doctors are prescribing meditation as a way to lower blood pressure, improve exercise performance in people with angina, help people with asthma breathe easier, relieve insomnia and generally relax the everyday stresses of life. Meditation is a safe and simple way to balance a persons physical, emotional, and mental states. It is simple; but can benefit everybody.
