Spirituality Information: Change Base Beliefs Through Deeds

A belief system based in fear subscribes to the idea that when we confront a life experience or event our natural response is to react to the event by harkening back to our memory to see what we have done before in similar situations. When we do this we reach back and see what we think of as our base idea or thought about the experience. Our memories store these base thoughts but where did they come from originally and why do we place so much importance on them?

The paradigm of separation tells us we came into this world with no knowledge and started accumulating knowledge by going through life's experiences and learning about life through these experiences. As we learn and discover life's revelations we store the data in our memories and use that data as a source of reference when we encounter a new experience with similar circumstances.

The paradigm of oneness says that we came into this world with full knowledge however we agreed to forget all we know upon entering the relative world. This voluntary amnesia gives us the same feeling of not having any knowledge and goes on to say that we are not here to learn or discover but to create the life we choose. By creating our lives we are in the continual process of remembering all that we know but voluntarily chose to forget. That is, we are re-membering ourselves to the God source. Becoming a member once again of our source.

So in both paradigms we enter this world with a clean slate as far as our knowledge of the relative world. In both theories we encounter events and experiences that begin to fill our memory banks with impressions of those events and experiences. So from our earliest cognitive periods we are forming base thoughts about life concepts. These are the foundational building blocks of how we view life.

Our memories are like a huge sponge-like void that is eager to suck up information. We begin to fill this memory bank with information that is fed to us by our earliest and most trusted teachers. Our mothers and fathers instill in us the ideas and information that they have gathered from their life experiences. Early on we accept these precepts as gospel because we haven't had enough of our own life experiences that we can judge them against. Remember, everything is relative.

As we gain life experiences, such as school and television, we reinforce and modify the basic thoughts about life concepts that we encounter. As we face more and more life experiences we begin to use these base thoughts in our decision making process to help us make the right choices and to avoid being wrong.

How we view life's concepts has been heavily manipulated by how other people have told us to view them. Our trusted advisors hand down to us what was handed down to them. So this is our base. The thoughts handed down to us by our trusted advisers about life concepts are our base thoughts.

In the creative process everything starts with a thought. But what if our base thoughts are not in alignment with who we declare ourselves to be? What if our base thoughts run counter to our life experiences? How do you change a base thought that has been given to you by another and then reinforced over time? How do you establish your own base thoughts, devised from your own life experiences, and in alignment with who you are?

The normal way of creating is the three-step process of thought, word and deed. In the case of changing a base thought, it is better to reverse this formula and use the process of deed, word and thought.

By doing the deed first and then saying the words of the new thought you begin to reprogram your idea about your base thought. In this way, you manipulate your mind and install your base thoughts, instead of letting others manipulate your mind and installing their base thoughts.

A good example is our base thought about money. Our experience with money is that it is nice to have and you want more of it. However your base thought about it may be that money is the root of all evil or that there is not enough money or I am not worthy enough to have a lot of money. Can you see how some of our base thoughts about money run counter to our actual experience of money?

This can be a huge hurdle to overcome, because all thought is creative and these may be your base thoughts. This may help to explain why money has not flowed to you, as you may have wanted it to. You are sending two conflicting messages to the universe. One is that you desire more money in your life, and two, that you're not worthy enough to have a lot of money. The universe sees these conflicting messages and acts accordingly. Your base thought is the more powerful, pervasive thought and the universe looks through the superficial to act on your core beliefs.

If you can change your base thought to reflect your experience then your intensions come into alignment with your desires and the universe receives a clear message about what you request.

So when you see a panhandler with a cardboard sign at the stoplight have some folding money ready and give it to them. Do the deed. Don't think about it. You have the money and you know that you will be getting more money. The panhandler doesn't live with that concept. The best thing to do is to have some folding money ready in your console or visor so that you don't have to think about giving it away.

When you begin to think about it you revert back to your base thoughts and start rationalizing. You begin to think that you don't have that much money to just be giving it away like that. You begin to think that the panhandler should get a job. You begin to think that he will just spend it on booze. You analyze, judge and become fearful of losing. You missed the opportunity to make a statement to the universe that you have money, there is enough money, money is the root of all good, and you are worthy to receive more money because you have enough to give away.

Besides, it makes you feel so good knowing you helped your fellow man. Remember, we are all one, so we should do unto others as we would have them do unto us. When you act (take action) often enough, then say words that support your actions, you will begin to think the new base thought. You will be in charge of manipulating your mind to what you think and, in this act, you define yourself as who you are. You can then use your new base thoughts to create yourself as who you choose to be.

Do you see how powerful this concept is in creating who you are? All thought is creative, and it is our conditioning to base what we choose to experience on what our previous thought was.

The creative process goes from thought (soul) to word (mind) to deed (body). First we think, then we speak, then we experience. When our base thoughts are based on joy, truth and love our thinking creates joy, truth and love in our experience. When our base thoughts are based in fear, deceit and not having enough, then our experiences reflect those concepts.

Since thought leads to experience which leads to thought which leads to experience we can see how critical our base thoughts are to our overall outlook of life and what events and experiences we will be creating . The key, once again, is to create consciously instead of unconsciously.
