Despite some reports, Im hesitant to believe we are out of our recession. But this doesnt mean theres no hope! One of the best ways for all of us to help the economy continue to improve is to get out and make purchases. If youve got the money to spend, one of the best things to treat yourself to is a high quality luxury vehicle from the local Philadelphia certified Mercedes dealer. Im here to suggest the perfect South Jersey Mercedes-Benz vehicle for you to consider the 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS four-door coupe.
This latest generation marks a major revision for the brand. Though Ive loved this vehicle since its debut, I feel this latest model might prove to be my favorite. From a visual standpoint, the changes made the four-door coupe 1.2 longer and wider than its predecessor. There are even new bi-turbo direct-injection V8 engines and other surprising features to three available trims.
For 2012, there are two trims available on this four-door coupe: the CLS550 and the CLS63 AMG. Each of these trims feature all-wheel drive, but have different engines and output. Heres a little information you might want to know about the engines.
For the CLS550, theres a new 4.6-liter direct-injection twin-turbo V8 engine. This powerplant produces an impressive 402 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque; the engine also features the brands new electrically assisted power steering, Airmatic air suspension, and a revised seven-speed automatic transmission. As for fuel economy, this engine can return an estimated 18 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway.
The next model on the line-up is the CLS63 AMG. This version is equipped with a 5.5-liter version of the new direct-injection V8 engine. The engine produces 518 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. On this model, drivers have the option to add the AMG Performance Package, which will get them 550 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. The CLS63 AMG delivers 15 miles per gallon in the city and 23 miles per gallon on the highway.
One feature which I especially love on the CLS63 AMG is the ECO stop/start system. Thanks to this system, the engine stops while in park or neutral, and as soon as the driver releases the brake, the engine computer decides which piston is in the best position for first ignition, and the direct fuel injection and multispark systems work with a starter motor to restart the engine on the fly. Very state-of-the-art!
Each of the CLS models feature top of the line safety features for you and your family. Among the included features are Pre-Safe, ABS antilock brakes with Brake Assist, Attention Assist, traction control and the ESP electronic stability control. Other available features are Active Blind Spot Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist.
Pricing for the CLS class models does vary. The CLS550 starts at $71,300; the CLS550 4Matic starts at $73,800. The high-performance CLS63 AMG starts at $94,900 (plus $875 delivery charges).
I think you will love the 2012 South Jersey Mercedes CLS four-door sedan as much as I do, but dont just take my word for it. Head to the local Mercedes-Benz dealership, where they also sell high quality Philadelphia certified Mercedes-Benz vehicles, for more information. Lets keep the economy rising!
