Sony Ericsson W595 Guide

By:

The Sony Ericsson W595 is a good looking slider Walkman mobile phone from Sony Ericsson. The dimensions of the SE W 595 are 100 x 47 x 14 mm and it weighs just 104 grams, which is quite light. There is a well sized screen, being 2.2 inches, and there are a few buttons beneath it and a navigational pad. You then slide the keypad out from the base of the phone and the keys are very well spaced from each other. The Sony Ericsson W959 will be available in a few colour combinations, which include white and red, blue and turquoise, grey and turquoise, and black and red.

Being a Walkman phone, the Sony Ericsson W595 will support all the popular music formats and also includes a number of advanced features. PlayNow, which allows you to quickly download tracks, TrackID, where you will be sent the song and artists name after recording a few seconds of a song, and of course the Walkman favourite, Shakecontrol. This allows you to adjust the volume and change songs by shaking the phone. The sound quality is excellent and it also includes an FM Radio.
There is a 3.2 mega pixel camera with 2.5 times digital zoom. Sony have also included picture editing software, picture blogging and video streaming.
Apart from the standard applications like calendar, personal organiser and calculator, there is also an application called Walkmate, which counts the steps you take each day. Internet connectivity is fast with 3G, but there is no wifi. You can also pair your Sony Ericsson W595 with third party devices using Bluetooth.

In summary, the Sony Ericsson W595 almost makes a great all-rounder. The Walkman music player is brilliant, there is fast internet connection and it looks stylish and slim. However, Sony could have made the W595 a great all-rounder if they had just included a better camera than the standard 3.2 mega pixel.
