During 2008, one manufacturer is set on shaping the world of camera-enabled mobile phones. This manufacturer is Sony Ericsson, and they are determined to not only corner the market with high-end camera phones, but low-end ones, too!
Camera phones evolve - the world created by Sony Ericsson
It's fitting, when you think about it, that Sony Ericsson should be the ones leading the way in the coming paradigm shift in camera-equipped mobile phones. I mean, it was them who began it all, way back in 2002. Let's remember, they were the first manufacturer to unveil a mobile phone that had a camera built in, within the UK. That mobile was the Sony Ericsson P800, but it didn't really hit the mass market in the way that Sony Ericsson wanted, as it was an amazingly (compared to other mobile phones at the time) high-end smartphone. However, their most iconic mobile in history was soon to hit the market, and that one DID have huge mass market appeal. It was the Sony Ericsson T610, and it entirely altered the mobile landscape. There was a device that stood head and shoulders over the rival mobile phones it was up against. It was compact, it was sexy, and people LOVED it. Plus, let's not forget that the Sony Ericsson T610 also had a built-in camera, and that it was really the first phone to hit the wider market, and make people think, 'Wait a sec, we really
do want cameras in our mobile phones!'
Now, the camera phone world has split, into entry-level devices, and top-end camera-equipped mobile phones; and Sony Ericsson want to be the lings of both!
Sony Ericsson S302 - cheap, cheerful, snappy
Say you want a Sony Ericsson camera phone, but not a mega-massive smartphone. If so, then the Sony Ericsson S302, the first phone in their whole new Snapshot range, is the perfect handset for you. It's a great little mobile phone, with a small, sexy shell, a marvellous screen, and a groovy little multimedia player. On top of that, despite this being classed amongst the ranks of entry-level mobile phones, the Sony Ericsson S302 has got a great little 2 megapixel camera. Ok, it doesn't have top-end features like autofocus, but considering that it's a budget snapper, it's brilliant!
