Some Important Truths I Realized While Blogging

By:

There are two methods to learn about new things. The first way is just as we learned things in school - listen, read, and take down notes. Somewhere along the way, we came across information we thought we will not probably need later in life, but we accepted learning simplly because we were mandated to. This is passive learning.

There's also what we call active learning, the kind of learning most individuals prefer since it gets you actively involved. You have the option to choose what you want to know about, or at times, you're required to learn simply because you desperately need the inputs. The great thing about active learning is that one enjoys the learning process because he wants to learn about something, and not because he merely needs to pass the subject. Learning then becomes both educational and interesting, which is how we all dreamt learning at school was.

The significant disparity between passive and active learning is that the latter allows you to experience things as you learn - that's why it becomes really fascinating. With active learning, you discover new and interesting information as you learn your way through the field of study. There even comes a time when you aspire to learn more than what is available at a particular time. Such as the case of blogging in the world of internet marketing.

Some years back, the word "blogging" was so unfamiliar to a lot of people. But since leanings in internet marketing were pointing to the world of blogging, most of us simply had to learn it. And as I learned my way to keep in pace with the demands of our times, I discovered that I couldn't have learned about blogging without really getting to experience writing my own blog. Here are a few thoughts that I have to to share with you:

You need to create exceptional posts. Millions of writers and marketers around the world are creating their own blogs so you should stand apart from the rest. Great blog material will pull attention, but most of good blog writers primarily did not have that in mind - they simply wrote to give readers some informational value that can be beneficial. All the focus to their blog simply followed because people liked what they were getting. And they gave value in their own way, from their own experiences, and not from someone else's. So ensure that your blog posts are unique. It also helps to go casual on the tone and inject a little humor - readers enjoy being amused.

To be successful at blogging, you have to enjoy writing. I'm quite happy that I love doing all the writing now. I will divulge a little secret. I'm not a born writer but discovered that writing can be very rewardig when I started to put in some comments into other blogs or forum posts. Writing became a lot easier especially when the authors responded and other people put in some more thoughts. Writing is actually just the expression of your thoughts and opinions, so it's just as undemanding as talking! Use this approach to writing, and make it the simple conversion of thoughts into words - and all else will just flow. Another good substitute is to do video blogging, which is actually the "in" thing to do these days.

Link up to other sources for increased traffic. Don't count entirely on your blog to rope in all the traffic for you. While keywords and tags are essential, it profits to tie up with other sources such as other bloggers, through forum participation, Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and other social sites or article directories. Put some active participation into your blog posts, and you will lure in more traffic.

Blogging will hook you up with a lot of amazing people. I got the most helpful tips to internet marketing from very successful individuals I got to know online, thousands of miles away from where I am. I've formed partnerships and affiliations with some of them, and everything started out with blogging. So don't set limits for yourself - take blogging beyond the net and reach out to your audience and partners. WriteSend them personal greetings or meet up with them when the chance arises. Or pay them a personal visit if you travel. Who knows, you might find a great business partner later on!

In a matter of time, it will pick up. And when it does, there's no way other way to go but UP! You must do a lot of work at the start - so like everything else in life. But once you start giving value, you will get better exposures and referrals that will lead to bigger collaborations and affiliations in a matter of time. A few fortunate ones can do it in months, while it takes years for all the others. You just have to persist and be resistant, and you will get there. Do not get easily dispirited and keep the faith!
