By:

The question at hand is if it is possible or not to have an ecofriendly office while sticking with your budget?

Working at home is automatically a great way to help the environment. You have no long commutes. You need fewer clothes and you can dress casually. You are not forced to waste at a job where eco friendly living is not even a thought. Thats just a start. The real question is how you can truly become more friendly envirnmentally and have others follow?

* Limiting the use of paper believe it or not is a big step. Just about everyone is using computers at the work place these days so that shouldnt be to hard. Email can pretty much cut the ole lick and stick method in half when it comes to sending a message. You can scan it or email it and you'll save paper, time, and postage. You can do this with reports, invoices, letters, almost anything that you use to send snail mail. Chances are your clients are able to do this as well. Buying recycled paper is also a great move.
* Companies use to spend thousands of dollars printing up full color brochures. You had to buy huge quantities to get any kind of price break, and they'd usually be obsolete before you got them all distributed. The world wide web has changed all of that. You can distribute much more than you can with a brochure, plus keep it up to date.
* Your compnay newsletter can be emailed or posted on your website or blog. Postage and paper are has beens witht his method. The internet is a convenient way to read this material, and again, cuts down on wasted paper.
* Also using the web to have "webinars" or conference calls saves energy for sure. Webcams are a perfect alternative to meeting in person. Free messenger software like skype or ichat are perfect for this.
* Toner cartidges can be recycled. It seems like a small thing, but with printers and copiers it's easy to use more than you realize. Staples will even pay you for the return.
* Energy saving lighting can be installed very easily. Turn your computer and printers off at night.
* Boxes and packing material can always be reused.
* Remember, that to keep yourself healthier you need to get up and walk away from your computer for at least a few minutes every hour. This will keep you alert and keep you eyes, back and neck in a healthy state. Setting a routine for this will ensure that you take the time.

Taking these steps to live more friendly environmentally will benefit you in more ways than one.

A few simple changes is all it takes to start living more friendly environmentally.
