By:

Are you an avid soap making fan? Are you just a beginner who's having a hard time with making soap? Or are you the more experienced type but is having problems with thinking of ways to come up with new designs? Then here are some tips and tricks that can help you make better soaps in the future.

For beginners, you will need to know exactly what you are doing or you will really have a hard time in perfecting your technique. The first thing you need to do is to make sure that your ingredients are in the correct amounts and that you are following the instructions on how to make soap properly.

Once you have gotten the hang of making soap, you may try other methods and recipes of making soap. Familiarize yourself with the different ways of making soap and once you have done this, you may try experimenting as you already know the different effects of putting more or less of an ingredient.

For soap makers that have more experience in soap making, you may be running out of ideas of how to design your soap. You don't have to rush and make soaps with really great designs such as those that you see being sold in specialty stores. You may want to mix and match different colors, use molds, or do some simple sculpting with your soap while they have not yet fully hardened.

You can achieve great effects using just coloring dyes by changing how you pour these dyes onto your soap mixture. A tie dye effect can be achieved by slowly pouring your dye while mixing your liquid soap mixture. Once this hardens, the color effect will remain thus making it a permanent design of your soap.

You can also try combing smaller soap designs to come up with a bigger soap with a much better design. Remember when you were younger and you made great designs with using different clay sculptures? The same way can be done with soap so that you can create designs that look like animals, food and any other object that you can think of.

Using special ingredients may also help you in designing your soap. The use of herbal extracts and leaves themselves will be a great addition for soaps that will be used for designing purposes. You may also put in soaps within soaps that have a transparent shade so that its contents may be seen.

You can choose to use a few or most of these tips and tricks within your soap. Just be sure that you don't go over the top and end up with a soap that looks messy instead of something that you would like to put in your bathroom. The key to making great soaps is using great techniques but still keeping designs simple.
