So You Have Written A Book, Now What?

By:

MyScribeWeb was conceived out of frustration.
I recognised the need for a place where REAL Publishers and writers could meet.
After spending countless hours on the Internet trying to find a way to get my book published, I realized there was a real need for a site where Writers could showcase their manuscripts.

You will find if you have not already experienced it yourself, that submitting a manuscript to the right publisher can become a nightmare.

Let's assume you have written your book, had it proof read, made your corrections and have a presentable manuscript. You now have the choice to publish the book yourself, on or off line or find a publisher prepared to publish your book.

There are dozens of so called publishers out there who will charge you upwards of $250 to submit your manuscripts to them for reading. [Without any guarantee that they will read your manuscript.] Then there are the publishers who solicit you to let them publish your book or poem without any compensation for your work on the contrary, they will ask you to order and outlay X amount of $$'s for your own books once they are published.

Most Publishers won't deal with you directly; you need to go through a Literary Agent who charges you to read your manuscript before making a recommendation to a suitable publisher. If you go to a publisher's website usually they will tell you what type of book they will consider. It becomes disheartening when you visit numerous websites only to be told that they are not interested in children's stories this month, after you have spent the last two years writing a children's novel.

I think by now you get the picture, I have only mentioned a few of the many frustrations faced by writers every day. Recognizing the need for writers to have a safe way for their manuscripts to be read by publishers who are looking for new books to publish was the birth of http://www.MyScribeWeb.com

Currently the scales are tipped; we have lots of publishers looking for books in the Publishers Directory and no manuscripts in the Authors Directory. This is because the site has only just launched and we felt the need to have the publishers ready to read your manuscripts before you would submit your manuscripts. As new members join the site the scales will even out.

In addition this MyScribeWeb group hopefully will interact with me with any ideas to make additions to the development of MyScribeWeb.com for its ongoing success.
