Snow Shovels

Snow Shovels

If your house is in an area that is controlled by the four seasons, you are experiencing every bit of worry most other residents have when it comes to temperature control and house management. You have a lot of worry during spring when everything becomes brown and muddy. Ventilation and keeping cool during summer time. Keeping leaves out of your yard during autumn, and most especially, the lot of things you have to work on during winter. Snow on the roof, snow on the driveway, snow on the street, snow outside your door.

Snow is as deadly as it is enchanting. The cold temperature is already a given con because it is quite inconvenient for everyone. The loss of vision during a heavy fall, the plants dying because of too much cold, all of these are just the tip of the iceberg. Rain is not as deadly as snow. Snow in large quantities are much deadlier than floods.

A snow shovel, being a convenient device that it is, will work wonders for light snow. Simple and elegantly designed, it goes for as much as you can. Fits in places impossible for large machines to fit in. Easy to store and easily repaired. If it gets stolen or destroyed, you can easily buy a new one. Cheap and ergonomic in design.

Snow blowers are far more convenient and requires lesser effort for you than shoveling the snow manually, which means same amount of time but larger area covered. However, the cost of repair, maintenance and fuel might be something that you wouldn't agree on. Snow blowers cost far greater than snow shovels, and if the snow isn't compatible with the blower, you end up with a few thousand dollars of junk.

Snow shovels work best with sparse snow, light dusting, dry snow. Snow blowers work better for those who cannot handle heavy work. Since winter only lasts three to four months, these tools will only see action for a little while during the year. Even if you have a snow blower, have a snow shovel handy. Sometimes the snow is but light enough, so taking out the snow blower would be a waste. That or if the snow blower breaks down.
