Smoke Damage To Your Home From Outside Sources

Have you ever been around the old trash dumps when they burn? The smoke is not only toxic sometimes, but really smells. There are all kinds of things that will end up in these trash dumps. Most of you would not believe the things that people throw away. In some places they have even found bodies and not just animals. Some people are crazy enough to think that by dumping a body in the trash it will keep them out of trouble. Most of the things that are thrown in the trash are plowed into the ground to be decomposed.

There are some things that these places have to burn because the ground can not decompose them. This is like the tires you throw away, or the old bottles of oil. Now these items can not be sent to the trash dumps you have to take them someplace else. Even at these places they have to figure out how to dispose of them. This smoke that the dump sites let off will travel in the air to places that might be some distance away. These dump sites are usually far away from any homes or your neighborhoods, but with the populations in some of your cities becoming so big, we are getting closer to these places and their damaging smoke.

If you happen to find yourself getting closer to a place like this, it might be a good idea to think about moving. If you decide to do this you will want to make sure that your home is ready to sell and you have found another place. You will need to get with a real estate agent to talk over what will have to be done to get this house ready. They can tell you what you might be able to list your home for and what repairs need to be made. The fact that your home is near an industry of some burning facility is not going to get you the best price.

Of course, this is a drastic option and you might not want to sell your home and move. You can choose to fight for the safety of your home and family and take some kind of action against an industry or burning facility that is causing smoke damage or worse to your home and family. You will likely need the help and support of others in your area to get anything done. You should also check with your homeowner insurance agent to see if perhaps you have grounds to sue the place to pay for the damages you have. It might be a battle to win, but it might save you from having to make a damage claim on your own home insurance.
