Small Business Seo - The Power Of Internal Links

By:

What if you had the power to boost your SEO rankings and didn't know it? In just a few weeks and a bit of work, your rankings could jump up the results pages. If you are a do it yourself, or DIY small business SEO, the power of internal links needs to be captured now!

The Internal Link Difference

I don't know anyone who really likes to do link building.. It's no fun and a pain to get links from other sites. Have you asked yourself for links? It's not a silly question.

If you've created a significant amount of content on your site, but have not linked to pages and posts within your site, you are giving away a lot of link juice. Many SEO experts believe that contextual links are the most powerful in the eyes of the search engines because they are surrounded by relevant phrases.

In other words, if you place a link about beet farming in a page about beat farming, it's going to have a more value than if you put it on a page about music. That makes sense doesn't it? A human reading the page and a search engine evaluating the page will both consider the in-context relevant link of value.

I just reviewed a site with 43 external links from other site. That's not very many. However, when I looked at the internal linking practices, I saw how the site had achieved a PageRank of 3. Google shows the site with 322 pages indexed. There are internal links on every page on this site. They used them from the beginning. The site ranks very well for the few keyword terms it targets.

This example shows that a significant amount of content on a site can drive up PageRank and rankings in the search engines.

Okay, Now What?

The first step is to remember that when creating new content, link to your key existing pages and posts. You have major keywords. Link to those phrases most often. For instance if you're targeting motor bikes and you selected five important keyword targets, link to three of those pages on every new article or page on the site.

Then, go to your currently indexed pages and insert relevant links to your important pages. Do this slowly, maybe one page for every new page of content.

Over the course of time, you can expect to see your pages rise in the search results. I've seen pages go from the second and third page to number 4 in Google after sending more internal links to the pages. There is tremendous power in internal linking. You will see boost to to rankings, particularly if haven't been using internal linking properly. Finding affordable small business SEO is an ongoing challenge. Here's a free method that needs only a small amount of your time.
