A skin tag is a benign tumor or even a skin growth that can appear anywhere in the creases of the body, such as the eyelids, breast, neck or armpits just to give a few examples. They are mostly like hereditary or passed down from parent to child, but generally will appear in adulthood around middle age. There are people that would like to do skin tag remover procedures to get rid of them though.

Although skin tags are not harmful to a person, it still may be a bit of a nuisance to some people, while others may choose to ignore them. They are usually small to begin with, but do grow within time. The only problems that someone may have with a skin tag is if clothing, jewelry, seatbelts or something else similar that may aggravate where the skin tag may be located on the body. This may give someone the reason to look for a solution to this problem and have the skin tag removed.

Surgical procedures can be an option for someone that would like to use it as a means of a skin tag remover. For an example, Cryotherapy is the procedure that physcians use an extremely cold substance like dry ice or liquid nitrogen to freeze the skin tag. This type of procedure is commonly use. A few more example would be burning or using scissors to cut them off. If someone has one on their eyelid, the person would have to see an experienced ophtalmologist to remove it.

Suture is another form of surgical procedure where the blood supply to the skin tag is cut off causing the tissure to die and fall off by tying a surgical suture to the base of the growth. There is occassionally pain or discomfort for this particular procedure as with the other surgery procedures mentioned above.

Home remedies can be another option for those that may take the time to remove it by themselves. Using fingernail polish, herbal extracts such as Dermisil for skin tags or using a sewing thread to control the blood flow to it are some examples to do at home. Mixing Castor oil and baking soda together and applying the mixture to it 3 times a day will dry it up and it would soon fall off. This though may take a few days for it get rid of the skin tag.

In conclusion, the best method to remove your skin tag is to go to an actual physician that could remove them surgically or give you other options. This would also avoid risk of taking it upon yourself and damaging your skin or worse. Although out of all else, if it doesn't cause any type of problem, then it's probably good just to leave it alone and don't bother with it.
