Simple Tips To Stop A Puppy From Barking And Irritating Your Entire Neighborhood

Does your canine friend drive both you and your family wild with his barking? Have you tried everything to make him quit but absolutely nothing is working?

Believe me, I've been there as well so I truly understand your aggravation with this particular behavior. Mainly because of my own pup's continual barking, I thought I would investigate the reasons why canines bark and find fast and effective ways to stop this bothersome behavior before I was arrested for disturbing the peace!!

Luckily, my trusted associate, Daniel Stevens, delivered to me a copy of his top selling dog training e-book, Secrets to Dog Training. The
timing couldn't have been more perfect! I am not a dog trainer however I thought I knew quite a lot about pet dogs before but his in depth guide helped me realize how much more I still needed to learn.

I'm pleased to let you know that my own puppy now is an extremely well-behaved pup thanks to the solutions I've come to understand from Daniel's e-book...which by the way has been bought by more than 217,000 dog owners around the world. Not too shabby, I would say!

And so now we shall be looking at the reasons why puppies start barking and exactly what can be done to fix this behavior in your own dog.

A lot of pet owners appear to want their canines to stop barking, period: a good dog is a quiet dog, and the only occasion that barking is permitted is if there is a man wearing a black balaclava and stripy prison attire, clutching a haversack labeled 'Swag', climbing in via your bedroom window.

Most dogs don't see barking the same way. Your family dog possesses a voice, just like you do, and she makes use of it just the way in which you do too: to say something to the people she cares about. I do not believe that barking is always a negative thing - in fact, I think it is reassuring that my dog wishes to "talk" to me, sufficiently so that I can disregard the loudness of her voice (which, in enclosed places, can be absolutely overpowering) in favor of her need to communicate with me.

It is the thought that counts (although I am a great deal more prepared to feel this way once my ears are protected securely behind industrial-quality ear-plugs). Regrettably, the language barrier between canines and mankind is pretty much impenetrable, consequently it really is up to us to work with the context, the body language of our pets, and the situation to figure out exactly why our pet dog is driving us crazy barking.

So why is it that dogs bark? It is difficult to say (it is like trying to answer the question, "Why do humans talk?" in so many words). Let's start out by stating that puppies will bark for several different reasons. Much of it varies according to the particular breed of dog: some canines were bred to bark only if a hazard is apparent (this holds true of guarding breeds in particular, such as Rottweilers, Dobermans, and German Shepherds).

A few were bred to use their voices as a good tool of sorts, to assist their owners in search of a common goal (sporting breeds such as Beagles and Bloodhounds, trained to 'bay' when they smell the quarry), and many pet dogs just like to listen to themselves talk (take pretty much any of the toy breeds as an example of an extremely chatty pet dog!). Nevertheless, all dog breed details cast aside, there are several occasions where more or less any pet dog is going to bark:

* She's bored
* She's lonesome
* She's hungry, or is aware it is time for a meal
* Something is not right / an individual is near to the house
* She's asking you to play
* She meets another four-legged friend
* She requires the bathroom .

If your pet is barking for any of these reasons, it's not really realistic for you to attempt to stop her: since of course, she's a dog, and it is the nature of all pet dogs to bark at times and in certain conditions.

Doubtless you were aware of this when you adopted your buddy (plus, if absolute peace and quiet was high on your list of priorities, you would have bought a pet rock, correct?). Obviously, there are occasions when barking isn't just unwarranted, it can be totally undesirable. Some puppies can use their voices as a good method of manipulation.
