Simple Chakra Balancing Techniques

Simple Chakra Balancing Techniques

By:

The term chakra is a Sanskrit term that means wheel or turning in English. It is a concept about wheel-like vortices in the human body. Traditional Indian medicine believes that chakra exists right in the surface of mans etheric double. Chakras are believed to exist as force centers of the body. There are seven main chakras or energy centers in the body.

The seven chakras are the Base/Root chakra, the Sacral Plexus, the Solar Plexus, the Heart Plexus, the Throat, Third Eye, and Crown. Each chakra is believed to cover specific areas of the body and basic functions of the physical and spiritual being.

There are several effective and practical techniques to attain balance of chakra. For example, shoulder and neck pain is attributed to imbalance of chakra. The practice is recommending simple techniques that could help relieve any pain brought about by such imbalances.

You would not need to get a good massage to relieve shoulder pain. Practical chakra techniques describe a simple way on how you could relieve shoulder pain on your own. To do the activity, prepare one or two tennis balls and a sock. Put the ball or both balls inside the sock, which should be then tied at its opening end.

Lie on the floor with the back down. Place the sock with the ball or balls beneath the specific shoulder area where there is discomfort. Roll the shoulder gently over the tennis ball/s. When doing so, be very careful as the affected spot may feel tender especially if the shoulder pain has been there for quite some time already.

If you prefer a firmer massage, work deeper through lifting your hips off the floor. Do this as you roll at the same time. Vary the intensity produced by moving the hips back and forth or side to side. As you move on, do a little experiment and find out the position that would feel better for you. Take note that the longer you perform this simple activity, the more tension you could possibly release.

Do the same techniques when you intend to target your spine for overall relaxation and relief. Again, increase the pressure in the areas where there is more pain and discomfort. This simple chakra exercise is best recommended for people who work with computers most of the time as well as drivers---people who commonly complain of neck or shoulder pain due to a long day of work.

You could also try a pebble, if you can find one with a triangular shape even better. You will need to take extra care when using it.
