When you want something fun and inexpensive to do with your child, it can be hard to beat easy craft projects. Not only do most children enjoy making craft projects, but it is yet another easy way to foster their creativity. When you select your craft project, make sure that you match the age and abilities of the youngster with the difficulty of the project. It can be fine when the craft is a little bit challenging, but when it's too difficult it won't be fun, and your child will want to quit and not complete it. If there are any parts of the activity that might not really be safe for your child's age level and abilities, such as the use of sharp scissors, then plan on assisting. If your youngster will be completing the craft unassisted, be sure to choose something they can achieve making independently. Here are some easy craft projects which you and also your child will both enjoy.

Picture Frames

Picture frames are excellent to use for craft projects, because just about everybody is able to use at least one or two more. They can be found in a multitude of styles, sizes and colors, but they can also be personalized and decorated as the craft project. Plain wood picture frames can be decorated using a wide selection of items, such as sea-shells, rocks or simply small sticks. Usually everything that you will require are some frames, some household adhesive, and the decorating items. You may even purchase some chipboard or wood letters so the child can personalize the frame with his or her own name. Allow your child to create a few to brighten their own room, or make several as gifts. Make sure that you have removed the glass or plastic from the frame before the child begins to decorate.

Sculptures Made from Clay

Among the great things about creating sculptures is that there is really no right or wrong technique to make one. Sculpting is an excellent way to allow a kid to fully explore their creativity, without spending a great deal of money. Make sure that you protect your work surface using a vinyl tablecloth, and make certain that the child is wearing an apron or old clothes. Now, allow them to have a good hunk of clay and observe them get creative. When you get self-hardening clay, then you'll not need a kiln for the hardening process. When the sculpture has dried, it is time to decorate it with acrylic paints.

Create a Paper "Mosaic" Art Project

Creating paper mosaic art can be a craft that even young children can have fun with. This project is a fantastic option to use up all of your small scraps of scrapbook paper, construction paper, and gift wrapping scraps. You start out by snipping your variety of colored paper into little geometrically or irregular shaped pieces. Then, give your child a piece of poster board and a bottle of school glue. When your children are smaller, it is possible to have a piece of self-adhesive contact paper and glue it face-down to the poster board so that the sticky side faces up once the backing is removed. Children may then create designs by sticking the paper shapes onto the board. As soon as they have completed their creations, put them in beautiful wall picture frames and display proudly on your wall.

So, try these fun and simple crafts if you are trying to find a project to do along with your child. And don't forget to snap some pictures of them having fun!
