Signs And Indications Of The State Of Your Health

By:

Have you ever wondered why do you have oily hair, or acne, or dandruff, or itchy skin and cracks around your mouth? Well, wonder no more and read the following article below!

What does it mean if you have Oily hair? This means that you have excess sebum in your hair follicles which is caused by poor circulation, poor diet and/or vitamin deficiency.

How do you fix it? - Try adding antioxidants (ie. vitamins A and C) and dark leafy vegetables to your diet as theyre essential for healthy sebum production. Avoid low grade shampoos which may strip your hair of its natural oils causing sebum imbalances. Instead, look for ones that are natural, nourishing, and contain vitamins, natural plant extracts, proflavanol-T and amino acids to promote optimal scalp condition while leaving your hair soft, shiny and non-oily.

What does it mean if you have Acne? It means that you have a high internal toxin build-up possibly due to an unhealthy diet.

How do you fix it? One word: Detox. To detox, try drinking chamomile or a glass of lemon juice in warm water every morning to help detoxify the liver. Ensuring that you move your bowels daily is also important, so try and eat lots of vegetables, lentils and fruits and drink at least 2 litres of water every day. Also, taking a liver tonic supplement such as HepaPlus can be very useful in fighting oxidative stress and supporting healthy liver function and your detoxification.

-

What does it mean if you have Dandruff ? Those white little annoying flakes on your head start showing up when your body is experiencing either a yeast overgrowth, and/or deficiencies in essential fatty acids, vitamin B6 and selenium.

How do you fix it? Avoid and cut back on sugary foods such as muffins, cakes and desserts (I know the horror!) and drink 2 tsp of flaxseed oil per day. Also, washing your hair with chamomile or tea tree shampoos can help combat the year overgrowth and ensure that your hair is receiving the right nutrients and vitamins for optimum health and shine.

-

What does it mean if you have Itchy skin for no apparent reason? This often indicates an iron and zinc deficiency. The reason why your skin itches is that the rest of your body has a higher priority in nutrients usage than your skin. Hence, if you have a deficiency, your skin, which has the least priority, loses out.

How do you fix it? - Eat plenty of iron and zinc rich foods such as salmon, green leafy vegetables, red meat and eggs to support and enhance blood and skin health. If necessary (due to diet restrictions for example), take a high quality multivitamin such as Essentials vitamins so you dont miss out on any vital nutrients.

-

What does it mean if you have Cracks around the corners of your mouth? This means that you may be deficient in vitamin B2 or iron.

How do you fix it? Increase your vitamin B2 levels by eating vitamin B2 rich foods such as legumes, milk, eggs and steak. If you want to take a vitamin B2 supplement, ensure that you pick a formula which contains all the other vitamins (ie. B1, B3, B6 and B12) and that they all have different values. This way, the supplement you choose is more likely to have the right balanced ratio of the the different vitamins. To increase your iron levels, try consuming more iron rich food such as red meat, green leafy vegetables, nuts and legumes. If you want to take an iron supplement however, ensure that you check your iron levels before you do so as taking iron concentrated supplements when it isnt needed can be dangerous as it is found to be linked to cardiovascular disease and increase risk in cancer. Also, do not drink tea or red wine 2 hours either side of taking iron supplements as they can hinder iron absorption. To boost absorption, eat oranges after taking the supplement instead as vitamin C improves your bodys rate of iron absorption.

So there you go! A short list of quick simple ways to fix those little problems. I hope you found this article useful and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

Till next time!
