What is that famous saying? Everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame? There is some truth to that, or at least close to it. Most professionals, volunteers, teachers or just basic employees have their "big day," or week, when they get recognized for an achievement or receive a promotion.

Compensation is always appreciated and, without a doubt, a large motivator. However, a pat on the back or a "good job" can be just as important to keep people feeling like they are a large contributor to the success of an organization. To have a party, luncheon or company dinner is a great way to go above and beyond to boost the morale of employees and build teamwork amongst them.

So, what kind of party do you throw? Do you buy balloons and pizza? Do you have a BBQ or a fun outing at a restaurant or bar? Sure, the more fun, the better!

There are always a number of decisions to make when planning an event. Many companies have their own employee appreciation events. An ice cream party would be a fun and innovative way to thank the people who work for you for their hard work and dedication to your organization.
