Show Me The Discount Sporting Goods

By:

My husband's mom and sisters are way into couponing and are always finding the best deals possible. This kind of shopping has never really been my forte. This is mostly on account of the fact that I don't have the patience to dig through all the coupons or go to several different stores in order to get all the best deals.

Luckily for my budget, over the past few years of my married life I've been able to pick up a few tricks of the grocery shopping trade that have allowed me to save money without going through quite as much hassle as I had originally expected. Now I just wish that my in-laws had as much experience in finding discount sporting goods as they do with finding a good deal on a loaf of bread or a gallon or milk.

I don't know about how shopping for athletic equipment goes for you, but for me it seems like it is always an expensive experience. It could be that if I had more patience I could get some better bargains on the items that I'm looking for, but patience is one virtue that I can honestly admit that I'm lacking in.

For example, on the day when I decided that I wanted to play catch with my nephew, and I realized that I had left my baseball mitt at my parents' house when I moved out, I couldn't wait to find a good deal. I just went and bought myself a new glove at the earliest opportunity that I had, and I was playing ball with my nephew within 24 hours of my baseball craving.

One time as I was leaving water aerobics a friend pointed out that I had a rip in my swimming suit. The back part of the suit where the shoulder straps crisscrossed was literally hanging on by a thread. I suppose that if I would have diligently searched, I might have found a bathing suit for a great price.

Unfortunately for my bank account, I knew that in order to feed my aquatic addiction I would need a new suit as soon as possible, and I purchased the first one I could find that fit my needs.

Just like I've recently discovered ways to save money on groceries that I never knew about before, I'm sure that there probably are simple ways to get discount sporting goods. I just wish that I had an experienced mentor that could train me and provide me with the necessary skills to make sure that I'm getting the best bargain on all of my athletic equipment and accessory needs.
