Shelving By Design: Storage To Match Any Decor

My suggestion to look into shelving by design, was followed by my friend Michael, and brought to a halt his annoying questions. Michael and his wife have two new-born babies and recently bought a house. As Michael and his wife had both just finished graduate school and were starting careers as professors at a University, they needed room for their myriad of books. Safety is always an issue with babies in the home. So, Michael and his wife chose shelving by design instead of high shelving and bookcases.

As Michael's wife is obsessed with interior decorating, the large oaken shelving cases which Michael had used previously were discarded and all the books remained in boxes. Easy access to a large portion of their well-loved literature for reference is something that their careers demanded. After spending their first semester teaching without an organized way of retrieving books, Michael's wife found samples of shelving by design which could be arranged around the room. The safety of her children, her requirement for feng shui conformity, and adherence to modern design were all addressed by the shelving.

When researching the all the options the shelving offered, they found that the tremendous array of artistic possibilities open to them were a problem they were happy to deal with. Once Michael had completed the measurements, his wife took over the research. I stood back while Michael's wife journeyed through the shelving by design options and installation, having decided that my suggestion alone had been enough. She chose to line the walls and fit the books into sleek white shelving of various sizes.

Michael and his wife acted on my suggestion and they are no longer borrowing my office shelving. Michael's wife has had many compliments on her new furniture, and I've been thanked many times for the recommendation. I keep it under my hat that my furniture by design gets complimented twice as often.
