Water Damage Restoration and Mold Remediation
Water damage can be caused by blockage producing a back flow in plumbing, flooding, or leak in piping. It is imperative that the water be removed instantly and the flow of water into the threshold stopped. To remove the water use a wet dry vac. Remove any remaining water with towels. A dehumidifier is good for removing excess water vapor in the air and should be run continuously to speed up removal of water. Empty the dehumidifier frequently to allow for continuous removal of water from air. This process will allow for reduction for the chance of mold and spores spreading through drywall and house.

Remove carpet, flooring, baseboards, and any drywall that are wet or damp from exposure to water. To eliminate the chance for mold to spread, treat the concrete flooring with an antiviral/anti-mold solution easily purchased at a local DIY store. The antiviral solution can be diluted with a gallon of tepid water. Dip a mop into the solution and spread evenly across the concrete floor and allow the directed length of time for the substance to dry in air. Following treatment to eliminate viral, bacterial, and mold formation, treat the concrete flooring with an anti-mold sealant. The sealant adheres to the concrete forming a water proof barrier to prepare the concrete for restoration of flooring.

To replace dry wall local DIY stores sell sheets of dry wall that can be cut for the size of wall to be restored. Cut away any jagged parts of the old dry wall and use a laser level to cut out a hole that can be replaced by rectangular shaped dry wall. Edge the corners to make sure the new dry wall can be cut to fit the area. Once the new dry wall is cut to fit the area, use a hammer to ensure the fit is accurate. Drill nails to hoist the drywall in place. Smear chalk around the dry wall edge to connect the new dry wall to old dry wall. Leave the dry wall to dry and paint.

Fire Restoration
For fire restoration, removal of carpet and furniture affected by fumes is essential. Any material that is charred must be removed. The ventilation system must be completely removed or thoroughly cleaned as smog fills the entire space of a home and should the air conditioning system be turned on the smog will be circulated in the building. To neutralize odor, use an oxidizing spray and sealant on any framework, floor boards, concrete, or dry wall. Follow directions on the oxidizing sprays and sealants to allow for perforation of the solvents. Paint all walls and ceilings affected by the fire.

Crime Scene Cleanup
Professional contractors with certifications to handle, process, transport, and evaluate potentially hazardous materials are required for crime scene clean up. The professionals must evaluate the chemical and biological hazards a crime scene may present to evaluate how to handle the material and how to eliminate potential risks of the material they are processing. Blood cleanups usually involve stripping carpeting or floor boards, and treating with chemicals to destroy any biological material. Sealants must be spread to eliminate biological contaminants. Depending on the nature of the crime, drywall may need to be replaced, therefore technicians qualified to handle hazardous materials are often equipped to complete construction projects.
