Serious Models Look To Miami Photographers

There are a lot of young women who are considering modeling and acting. Two of my sisters-in-law took classes from a professional service to acquire the skills necessary to break into the industry, and I even had a brother who taught at the same school for quite a while. After everything was said and done and their tuition was all paid, neither girl actually decided to go into acting or modeling, so I feel a bit sorry for my in-laws for shelling out the money for them to attend, but who knows; maybe someday they will use what they learned.

One difference that I have noticed between those that are serious and those that are merely toying with the idea is that those that are serious take the time and pay the money to put together a decent portfolio of head and body shots. Some think that photos from their own cameras might be enough, but casting directors will never consider those photos as professional. My recommendation to anyone interested in modeling is to plan a trip to Miami.

I choose Miami because of its accessibility and the variety of venues for creating a portfolio. Regardless of the shots, be they glamor, bikini, or lingerie, a Miami photographer with experience in modeling and acting shots will know all of the best locations and techniques to make your head and body shots stand out above the competition. You'll want someone who is proficient with both indoors and outdoors, day and night, and lifestyle as well as fashion.

When choosing a Miami photographer for your job, find out who he or she has shot for; look at his portfolio and see if there is anyone on the national scene that you recognize. Also, use some business sense and find out which magazines feature their work. You may be able to get an early foot in the door by using the contacts that they already have. The same holds true if you have an eye towards acting.

Find out which casting agencies, studios, and other cinematic venues your photographer might have as contacts. Every move you make should be in the interest of furthering your career, so don't be bashful about acquiring your leads and work.

Personally, I think you'll find great success with a Miami photographer. The eyes of the modeling world are on Florida, and it will say a lot for your portfolio to have these wonderful shots.
