Sell Your Products By Using Postcards

By:

Having a new business venture is an exciting experience for any person. You know have a great line of products that you think many people would want to have in their homes or at work. But the problem is that you do not know how to market them. You think that putting an ad on the paper is too much expense for a one-day exposure. You also thought about catalogs or brochures but they are too much to produce and your layout skills are not that developed yet. Your best option would be to send out postcards. But you wonder if these small mailers are going to relay the message that you want to convey. Will they be able to sell your products? With the right principles in postcard printing, you will indeed be able to sell your products.

The Front Side

Postcards may have a small space but you can focus your efforts on making the front side for a catalog. You can divide the face of the card into 12 boxes and put photos of your products on each box. Just make sure that you will only utilize one box for one product so that your layout will not look cluttered. Or you may leave some boxes for text, like your headlines. Creatively use the text boxes for one- or two-word slogans or titles that will speak about your products. That is maximizing the area for the design. But if you want, you can leave space in the bottom for your companys logo, name, address and telephone number. Or you can highlight your website. It is only a short text but it already speaks a lot about your company. The reader can just visit your website and get your contact details there.

The Back Part

On the back part, you have to follow the standard set up of the US Post Service. Print out the word Postcard on the middle topmost part. Then draw a vertical line in the middle. On the left side, write a short introduction composed of maybe one to two sentences. Or you could just limit it to a greeting. Then proceed with your contact details if you have not included them in the front. Then write down instructions on how to place their orders in the simplest terms possible. You can also print a title that you lifted from the front. Write them in bold letters but they do not have to take up a lot of space. Put a closing greeting. If you want to personalize your postcards because after all, you are just a small business, you may opt to individually sign your mailers. Under the greeting, leave a space and then type in your position. After printing, write your full name legibly in the blank on top of the position. That is a nice extra touch to your cards.

The Material

You have to use a stock card for your postcards. While photo paper is also thick and the colors come out really vivid, photo papers tend to warp. And your overall presentation will look cheap, like a kiddie party invitation. Remember, this is for your business and you are using them to sell your products. Put some professionalism into it.

Postcards are great tools to sell your products. So seriously think about postcard printing and get the final prints out to sell your products.
