The strength of a cardboard box is determined from its Edge Crush Test value (ECT, weight per unit width in inches). The higher the ECT value, the better the strength. One should never overload a moving box. The ECT value and the maximum weight are mentioned on the cardboard and one should consider these values before selecting the right box. These days, Rectangular Slotted Cartons (RSC) and double wall corrugated cardboard boxes are used owing to their high endurance levels and durability.

One can also hire a moving and packing company to help them shift from one place to another. However, one should assist the movers and indicate the more important objects so that extra care can be taken. Cardboard boxes are recyclable and this makes them more popular than modern plastic boxes.

When one packs boxes with items and objects, they should refrain from over packing. The boxes should be easy to unpack as well. Apart from being used as moving boxes, cardboard boxes can also be used to store objects that are not used frequently.
