Seeing The Real You Through Raw Foods

By:

This week, as I was driving home from my round of errands and general busy-ness, I was detained for several minutes due to the usual summertime road construction. Fortunately for me, the person in front of me provided me with lots of reading material to enjoy as I waited.

Their car was covered with an amusing assortment of bumper stickers and decals; and after reading only two or three I felt as if I knew this person intimately, or at least what they stand for on sexual and political agendas.

One saying in particular caught my attention and gave me plenty to ponder over the next few minutes. I thought it rather profound, and I quite agreed with it. The exact wording escapes me at the moment, but I believe it read: 'Change the way you see, Instead of the way you look.'

I would venture to say that neither you nor I know one single person who looks in the mirror and is completely satisfied with what they see. Sure there's always room for improvement, but that is not the same thing as trying any and every means at your disposal to change what you look like.

This catchy saying had me pondering all day long that it really is more important to see ourselves from a very different point of view than just what we look like superficially or worse yet, in comparison to some standard that we (and most people we know) will never attain anyway.

Following a mostly raw food diet has helped my body to cleanse and heal and become a shining example of health. And in this day and age, health equals beauty. This is the new paradigm that is long overdue, as the old artificial and unhealthy ways of 'looking and seeing' are falling by the wayside.

A raw food diet has the capacity to change a person from the inside out. As the body and bloodstream becomes clearer and burdens of excess toxins and weight are removed, our thought process is greatly affected. The way we perceive everything in our lives is gloriously altered, and we begin to see things as they really are.

When we realize the potential and power we have to impact not only our health but also all aspects of our lives, that is when this paradigm shift happens. This is when we begin to question the old programming and re-evaluate who we are, what we stand for and what is important to us. But most of all, we begin to appreciate ourselves physically and in every other way, for who we really are.

Self-acceptance takes on a new meaning and when you look in the mirror you are at peace with your own reflection because it is authentically YOU at your very best, without the ravages of disease, fats and various toxins that in the past filtered your reflection. You truly begin to see yourself differently.

Whether you choose to let the most vibrant and naturally beautiful you shine forth unassisted, or (this is generally more true for women) enhance it with the plethora of natural cosmetic products that are available today, one thing is bound to happen: you will genuinely start to change the way you see yourself, and decide that you like the way you look, too.

By practicing a healthy diet and lifestyle, along with uncovering the hidden beauty we possess, whether male or female, we can also discover healthier ways of 'looking' at ourselves so that we truly will be grateful and appreciative of what we 'see'.

For more information on how a raw food diet affects how you look and see and to learn about methods of transitioning to this healthful way of life, a plethora of online resources are now available.
