See The Gift In A Crisis

Crisis struck.

You have been made redundant from your job. Your partner has just announced a break-up. Your kid gets into trouble with the law. You need to take care of an elderly bed-ridden relative. When faced with a crisis, many people would probably be paralysed with fear and could not see beyond the looming dark clouds.

If you are caught in such a situation, you may be overwhelmed by negative feelings. You may feel angry, hurt, depressed or even helpless. Let your emotions flow. Let go of all the frustrations. Scream if it helps. But at the end of the day, do remember that every cloud has a silver lining.

Now that you are being laid-off, you have actually opened the doorway to more opportunities. You may want to re-look at your lifestyle. Perhaps, you have been spending too much time on work and have neglected your health and family. Now is the time to work on these areas. Come up with a plan to eat right and sleep well. Take up a game or exercise. Spend time with your loved ones. By letting go of the old, you are making room for something greater to enter your life. Who knows? Your ideal job may just be waiting round the corner. You may have always wanted to pick up a skill or learn a trade but do not seem to have the time. This is the golden opportunity to do so.

You can always find learning opportunities and new possibilities in a crisis. Sometimes, it is a blessing in disguise. When crisis strikes, dont lock yourself indoor and declare doomsday. Gently embrace it and see the gift within it. Ask yourself, what are the learning opportunities presented, what are the possibilities available and what is the good for you and those around. Take control and you can turn crisis into opportunity.
