Salsa Fundraising: Get Your volunteers Excited

Did you know that doing a salsa fundraising campaign requires more than just careful planning and execution? If you’ve failed to consider motivation when you were laying down the details of your fundraiser, then you have missed on something really, really important. Motivation is one of the key factors that help define a successful fundraiser campaign.

Motivation is very important when you’re doing a salsa fundraising campaign or any other kind of fundraiser because this will allow your sales volunteers to be really pumped up to work at their best so that you can reach your fundraising goals within the time frame that you have set for your campaign. Remember that most of the members of your fundraiser team are volunteers, which means that they are not obliged at all to do work for your group. Based on this, you have to give them a really good reason to strive hard for your fundraiser campaign’s success. You can motivate your volunteers so that you can get them pumped up to generate lots of sales in different ways. The ways that you use to motivate the members of your team should be based on their age and interests. For instance, if you’re working with elementary school students, it would be best for you to make use of a prize program that features toy prizes. You can set criteria for your prize program and can have different levels. For example, if one of your sales volunteers get to sell out 30 products, he can get a basketball. By setting some criteria for your prize program, you can make your volunteers focused on a certain goal. However, you shouldn’t only focus your prize program on your sales volunteers. Get everybody pumped up so that every single person that’s working for your fundraiser’s success will be pumped up to strive at their best.

Aside from using a prize program, you can also motivate your volunteers to work hard by getting them involved in the planning phase as well as in the other preparations of your fundraising campaign. In this way, you can seriously tell your volunteers that they are an important of your campaign and that the things that they have to say are being considered. Orient your members well beforehand so that they can have a good grasp of the different things that you’re going to do. Next, when you assign tasks to your members, make sure that you consider their talents and skills. Assign tasks based on the capabilities of your members and not based on your own judgment. Don’t assign tasks randomly. You have to do this so that you can be certain that each of your members can perform their assigned tasks well and without too much delay.

Meet with your members as much as you can so that you can communicate with them well. Tell them all of the things that they need to know about your fundraiser. Help them if they have certain difficulties and make sure that you do the work with them instead of letting them do all of the dirty jobs while you’re sitting and resting.
