After a string of action films, Sajid produced a comedy film. He cast Salman Khan in a dual role in the film JUDWAA (1997). Directed by David Dhawan, this comedy film became very popular when it was released and did very well at the Box-Office. Sajid bonded well with superstar Salman Khan and the two collaborated for more films to come.

HAR DIL JO PYAR KAREGA...(2000), a romantic drama, starring Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta, and directed by Raj Kanwar, did moderately well and received good reviews.
