Rsa (queensland) Online Provides The Rsa Certificate

By:

In Queensland all staff involved in the sale or service of alcohol require a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate. A Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that has been approved by Queensland's Office of Liquor Gaming and Racing (OLGR) must deliver this RSA training.

OLGR approves RTOs to deliver the Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB009A) unit of competency. In Queensland the successful completion of this will see you receive two RSA certificates - the OLGR approved Queensland certificate and the Statement of Attainment for the nationally recognised Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB009A) unit of competency.

The unit of competency is a nationally accredited course, meaning your Statement of Attainment will be valid wholly, or in part, as an RSA certification in other Australian states and territories. For instance in Western Australia, the Statement of Attainment alone, no matter the state or territory you were awarded it in, acts as an RSA certificate.

While in New South Wales the RTO also needs to be approved by the State's liquor authority, a similar requirement to that in Queensland.

The course details how to responsibly prepare and serve alcohol, how to encourage responsible drinking habits within a licensed venue, how to assist those who have become adversely impacted by their consumption and when it's appropriate to refuse someone service: Tools of the trade, valuable to anyone working in the sale or service of alcohol.

New staff have one month to get their RSA certificate from commencing employment in their role of selling or serving alcohol. However, it's a good idea for anyone looking to work in the hospitality or retail industry in Queensland to get this qualification before even applying for these roles. This is due to, as mentioned earlier, the nature of the training incorporating valuable knowledge for these staff members.

On top of which, your potential employer is required to keep a detailed description of your RSA training - when it took place, who the RTO was - in house, or risk fines for non compliance. As a candidate for employment, someone who was taken the initiative to already undergo training will seem more ideal. While your employer doesn't have the excess worry of following up with prior to including you on their in house RSA register.

RTOs can provide the training online or in person. Online the training takes three hours to complete, after which you can simply print out your RSA certificate. In person the RSA training can go for between three and six hours, your RTO trainer will then provide you with your RSA certificate.
