Romantic Rooftop Restaurant, Dhuan | Ahmedabad

What you see Dhuan is a rooftop restaurant at Hotel Grand Bhagwati on S G Highway in Ahmedabad. Set on the terrace, it Dhuan restaurant, Ahmedabadis spacious and has a lot of dimly lit corners and walkways. Seating arrangement include a low seating one with wooden benches, silk couches and cushions apart from regular tables and chairs. A balmy breeze under the starry sky keeps you relaxed while you enjoy sipping a refreshing mocktail. Arabic music playing in the background adds zing to the ambiance. It is not surprising that couples find it a romantic place to have dinner at, amidst subdued lighting and beaded curtains.

What you get Dhuan specializes in Mediterranean cuisine, including Lebanese, Egyptian and Moroccan food. Indian food is also available. The menu is interesting. Food variety is written on a chalk slate while an empty champagne bottle has the mocktail menu pasted on it.

In soups, we found interesting names like Green Lemon soup and Dhuan restaurant, AhmedabadEgyptian lentil soup. The former is very pungent. We thought the Egyptian lentil soup was better. In starters, go for the Persian Cheese kebab which, as the name suggests, comes with loads of cheese, peas and other vegetables. Theres Khajur kebab too for those who like it sweet with dates. Moroccan Kibbeh, which resembles fried meatballs is also worth a try.

Another must-have at Dhuan is Mahshi Melfoof (cabbage based dish). Otherwise, there are Lebanese and Arabic naan and Lachedar saunfi naan that you can have with curry too. For desserts, you can choose from Basbousa (semolina cake) or Tawa kulfi (frozen malai kulfi served sizzling hot).

If you like to have your food with refreshing mocktails, then the menu has African fruit slush, Witch's brew (smoldering glass of passion), Moroccan punch, Iced tea, Lassi or Fruit champagne.

Our verdict - Dhuan is the perfect place for a romantic evening under the starry sky. Though their menu does not boast of a huge variety, whatever they have is decent and tastes good. Go here, more for the ambience and then the food. Service is good. Outdoor catering services are provided. Parking space is available.
