Romantic Getaways For A Much Needed Break

What one couple considers a romantic getaway might seem like a test of endurance to another. Most couples consider a romantic getaway in Illinois as one with a spa for relaxation and pampering; perhaps a stone-encased fireplaces, a large plasma TV, a rain forest shower, luxurious bedding, bathrobes, a wet bar and of course, incredible dining. This is considered the perfect weekend for those needed respite from the crazy schedules everyone seems to be keeping these days.

Other couples find relaxation and recuperation among the trees and stars. A weekend of backpacking, hiking, swimming in a lake, traveling with your hotel on your back, is just what the doctor ordered for some. Others might like to mountain bike, repel down a steep cliff, rock climb up steep cliffs or kayak to a distance destination. Whatever your idea of a romantic getaway is, just do it!

Too many people are caught up in the hustle and bustle of life and forget to take time for each other. It is easy to go to every ball game of your children, doctor appointments, PTA meetings, community events, work related affairs, take care of the yard, the parents and neighbors and never have any time left over for yourselves!

Happy families start with happy couples. What is your idea of spending a romantic getaway in Illinois together? Are you the outdoor adventurous type? Do you enjoy just sitting by a pool and relaxing together? Do you want room service and spa treatments, followed by good food and a movie? Come together to decide what you want to do together and then implement the plan. Easy? Not if you have children. It can be a real pain and expensive to work out childcare for the weekend, do it anyway.

Most people have somewhat limited funds, the key is how are you going to spend those? Let your spouse know you care enough to get away together, to take time off work if necessary, and to have a dream weekend occasionally.

Strap on the backpack. Inflate the raft. Clean off the sterno or call a spa or resort to relax, reflect, and revel in your time together. The cost and energy involved produces great payoffs. Whatever your idea of a perfect weekend is, do it together, spending time together is the single greatest thing you can do for your relationship.
